"Fayin: Mandarin Pronunciation" is the first of a three-part Chinese multimedia language resource series on CD-ROM. The series is intended to enhance the teaching and learning of modern Chinese standard language (Mandarin) at beginner and intermediate levels.

"Fayin: Mandarin Pronunciation" is a multi-media program that teaches Mandarin Chinese pronunciation using the Pinyin spelling system developed in the People's Republic of China. The biggest challenge usually faced by the learner of Mandarin Chinese pronunciation is the lack of an environment in which they can, among other things, hear correct pronunciations as many times as they want and compare a good native accent with their own. Now, thanks to this computer software, we are able to provide learners with an individualized, life-like, learning environment.

"Fayin: Mandarin Pronunciation" is designed to meet all the needs of the student of Mandarin Chinese pronunciation. In addition to the written text and audio-video clips in LESSONS, audio displays of every sound and a recording function are available throughout the program to enable you to listen to and compare your pronunciation to the standard. You can also move freely from one part of the program to another, allowing you to tailor the program to your individual needs.

"Fayin: Mandarin Pronunciation" consists of five parts: Introduction, Lessons, Drills, Test, and Explore.
