I stumbled across this one several days ago and I thought I should share it here.

If your Egyptian dialect is in the beginning stages, it will give you a gentle introduction with a lot of cultural info.
If your abilities are advanced, it will allow you to hone in onto some details without much effort.

Either way, it's one of the better FSI-style productions (some are abysmal). and there are few books in the field worth keeping (usually one outgrows the basic dialect books quickly, but this one is a keeper).

I adorned the post with an image of Sha'aban 'Abdel Rahim, not because the author mentions him, but rather because he epitomizes much of working class Egypt. Many of his political songs are quite crude, but he was great to watch in "A Citizen, a Detective and a Thief" couple of years ago. So, after you read this book, try to watch the movie!
